Iziane Castro Marques (born March 13, 1982 in São Luís , Brazil ) is a professional basketball player. She currently plays for the Atlanta Dream in the Women's National Basketball Association as a shooting guard .

Career

Castro Marques was never selected in a WNBA draft , but was signed as a free agent by the Miami Sol in 2002 . In the 2003 season she played one season for the Phoenix Mercury . From 2005 to 2007 she played for the Seattle Storm . In the 2005 season she was for the first time in a starting lineup of a WNBA team. She had to give this place to Barbara Turner at the beginning of the 2006 season , but she fought back this place with strong performances and was back in the starting lineup of Storm from the ninth game. On February 6, 2008, the Seattle Storm transferred Iziane Castro Marques and her first round pick (8th overall pick) to the Atlanta Dream for Roneeka Hodges and her first round pick (4th overall pick). So she plays for the Atlanta Dream from the 2008 season .
