János Urányi (born June 24, 1924 in Balatonboglár , Somogy County , † May 23, 1964 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian canoeist. He and László Fábián were Olympic gold medalists at the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne in a two-man kayak over 10,000 meters. Second were the German Fritz Briel and Theo Kleine .
Fabian also won a gold medal and a bronze medal in two and four kayaks at the canoe world championships , each over 10,000 meters.
Urányi died at the age of 39 in the Hungarian capital Budapest . In total, he took part in three Olympic Games.
