The Jägerhaus is a listed former forester's house in the Althaldensleben district of the city of Haldensleben in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located at Lindenallee 1, west of the intersection of Waldstrasse, Lindenallee and Am Klosterpark, on the northeastern edge of the Althaldensleben-Hundisburg landscape park . The street Am Klosterpark runs south of the house, on the other side of which is the cemetery of the Nathusius family .

Architecture and history

The single-storey house was built in 1791, according to other information in 1794, in half-timbered construction. At the time of construction it was at the beginning of the monastery forest. The compartments are lined with bricks. Part of the brick hangings consists of jambs . Windows and shutters are still in their original condition. The building has a partial basement. The cellar originally served as a game cellar . In the 19th century the house was extended to the north. After the Nathusius family sold the estate in 1893 , the Jägerhaus came to the Nathusius'sche Friedhofstiftung. The residents of the house were responsible for looking after the neighboring family cemetery.

The descendants of the von Nathusius family arranged for the property to be reconstructed in accordance with the requirements of a monument, which was completed in 1995. The Central Association of German Crafts awarded the renovation with the Federal Prize for Crafts in Monument Preservation 1996 (3rd prize).

The property also includes other farm buildings and a garden.

In the local register of monuments , the forester's house is registered as an architectural monument under registration number 094 84399 .
