Initially, without significant success he could on 23 January 2008 in the downhill in Reinwald first place in the top ten and the next day in the super Combination celebrate their first European Cup victory. This was followed by two more podium places in the downhill, with which he was seventh in the downhill classification and fifth in the super combination classification at the end of the 2007/2008 season .

Durand's first races in the World Cup were the two downhill runs from Kvitfjell in February / March 2008, in which he did not win any World Cup points. After being unable to contest any races in the 2008/2009 season due to injury, he took part in three other World Cup races in the winter of 2009/2010, in addition to the European Cup - where he did not get any top positions - in which he again failed to score points. He contested his last race in March 2010 as part of the French championships.
