Jérôme Martin

Jérôme-Michel-Francis Martin OFMCap (born June 10, 1941 in La Chapelle, Chambéry , France , † December 4, 2009 in Limoges ) was a Roman Catholic religious priest and bishop of Berbérati .

Life

Jérôme Martin joined the religious order of the Capuchins and made his profession on June 26, 1966 . He was ordained a priest on June 29, 1967 .

From 1980 to 1987 he was Apostolic Administrator in Berbérati. Pope John Paul II appointed him bishop of the Berbérati diocese in the Central African Republic on 1987 . He was ordained bishop on January 24, 1988 by the Archbishop of Chambéry, Claude Feidt ; Co- consecrators were Hubert Marie Pierre Dominique Barbier , then Bishop of Annecy and Edouard Mathos , then auxiliary bishop in the Diocese of Bossangoa.

In 1991 Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation. Bishop Martin died on December 4, 2009. He was buried in the church of La Chapelle.
