Edouard Mathos

Edouard Mathos (born June 28, 1948 in Bossangoa ; † April 28, 2017 ) was Bishop of Bambari .

Life

After his theological training, Edouard Mathos was ordained a priest on June 19, 1977 in Bossangoa .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Bossangoa and titular bishop of Giufi on August 28, 1987 . The episcopal ordination donated him to the Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Jozef Tomko , on January 10 of next year; Co- consecrators were Joachim N'Dayen , Archbishop of Bangui , and Sergio Adolfo Govi OFMCap , Bishop of Bossangoa.

On January 26, 1991, he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Bangui . On November 6, 2004, he was appointed Bishop of Bambari by John Paul II. He held this office until his death on April 28, 2017.
