Sergio Adolfo Govi
Sergio Adolfo Govi OFMCap (born June 30, 1934 in Ospitaletto , Italy ; † May 31, 2016 ) was Bishop of Bossangoa .
Life
Sergio Adolfo Govi joined the order of the Capuchins and was ordained a priest on April 2, 1960 .
Pope Paul VI appointed him on June 5, 1975 coadjutor bishop in the Central African Bossangoa and titular bishop of Tortibulum . The secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Bernardin Gantin , consecrated him bishop on October 26th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Léon Chambon OFMCap, Bishop of Bossangoa, and Bruno Foresti , Auxiliary Bishop in Modena-Nonantola .
After Léon-Toussaint-Jean-Clément Chambon's resignation , he succeeded him on April 22, 1978 as Bishop of Bossangoa.
On June 10, 1995, Pope John Paul II accepted his early resignation.
