Józef Lankosz (* 1907 ; † 1986 in Zakopane , Poland ) was a Polish skier. In 1927 he became Polish champion in ski jumping.

Career

Lankosz was a member of the sports club SN PTT Zakopane .

After Lankosz long time participated only in second-class competitions, he won in February 1927 in the Polish Championships in ski jumping in Zakopane the championship. With jumps on 32.0 m, 36.0 m and 38.0 m, he prevailed against the competition after three rounds and led the podium in front of Władysław Żytkowicz and Andrzej Krzeptowski . Just a few weeks earlier he had set a new hill record with 49.5 meters on the Wielka Krokiew in Zakopane. In the Nordic Combined he was runner-up that year behind Bronisław Czech .

Just a year after his greatest sporting success, Lankosz moved to Yaremche in western Ukraine to study at Lviv University. For this reason he moved to KTN Lwów . In 1929 he was allowed to take part in the Nordic World Ski Championships , but Lankosz did not start for unknown reasons.

He ended his career shortly before the outbreak of World War II and became a doctor in Nowy Sącz . He received the Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland .
