József Sütő

József Sütő (born September 9, 1937 in Makó ) is a former Hungarian long-distance runner .

In 1962 he came in 23rd place at the European Athletics Championships in Belgrade over 10,000 m and won the Csepel Marathon in 2:23:06 h.

In the following two years he won the Hungarian marathon championships . At the Olympic Games in 1964, he finished 16th over 10,000 m and was fifth in the marathon .

In 1965 he was the third time Hungarian marathon champion and came in eighth place in the Fukuoka marathon .

At the European Championship in Budapest in 1966 , he ran over 10,000 m in 13th place and did not reach the goal in the marathon.

In 1968 he qualified with a second place in 2:21:34 h at the International Friendship Marathon in Budapest for the marathon of the Olympic Games in Mexico City , in which, however, he did not finish.

In 1962 and 1963 he was Hungarian champion over 10,000 m, in 1963 also in cross country .
