The Jökulsá í Fljótsdal is a glacial river in eastern Iceland and the largest tributary of Lake Lagarfljót .
The river has its source at Eyabakkajökull , a glacier tongue of Vatnajökull , east of Brúarjökull .
In the upper reaches, this river is dammed to the small Ufsalón, which belongs to the Kárahnjúkar power plant . About 10 kilometers before the mouth of the river, the power station's outlet is also filled with the water from the Hálslón Lake, which is used to dammed the Jökulsá á Brú glacial river .
