Jörg A. Henle
Jörg Alexander Henle (born May 12, 1934 in Aachen ; † September 2, 2019 in Berlin ) was a German industrialist and patron of culture .
Live and act
Henle was born in 1934 as the son of Günther Henle and Anne-Liese Henle (née Küpper), the adopted daughter of industrialist Peter Klöckner . He studied law at the universities of Cologne, Munich, Princeton (New Jersey), Stanford, Geneva and Berlin and graduated with the first state examination in law. In 1962 he joined the Klöckner & Co group of companies. There he took on various managerial functions before becoming managing partner and chairman of the overall management of Klöckner & Co Duisburg. He first held this position together with his brother Christian Peter . After his brother left in 1988, he stayed with the company until the beginning of 1993.
From 1992 to 2015 he was also a member of the board of the Peter Klöckner Foundation and was its chairman from 1993 to 2011. Through the foundation, Henle supported many cultural activities in his home town of Duisburg , including the Philharmonic and the Lehmbruck Museum .
