Jörg Brückner (singer)

Jörg Brückner (* 1970 in Erlangen ) is a German opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Jörg Brückner completed a vocal degree at the University of Music in Würzburg with Charlotte Lehmann and privately studied music kinaesthesia with Ernst Huber-Contwig in Hanover. He attended courses with Astrid Varnay (16th Munich Singing School), Alfredo Kraus (Santander, Spain), Cornelius L. Reid (New York, USA) and Heiner Hopfner (Mozarteum Salzburg).

He is currently being vocal coached by Mrs. KS Irmgard Boas in Dresden.

In 1998 he received a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Association , Bayreuth.

Guest engagements took him to the Meran Theater in 1998/99 and to the Coburg State Theater in 1999/2000 . In the summer of 1999 he took part in the chamber opera Schloß Rheinsberg as Fenton in The Merry Women of Windsor . From May 2000 Götz Friedrich brought him to the Deutsche Oper Berlin as a scholarship holder , where he sang under conductors such as Christian Thielemann , Kirill Petrenko , Michail Jurowski , Jiri Kout , Marcello Viotti and Stefan Soltesz .

In the 2003 yearbook of Opernwelt magazine , Jörg Brückner was nominated as Young Artist of the Year.

As a guest singer he appeared in the Rusalka productions of the Braunschweig State Theater (2003/04) and the Heidelberg Theater (2004/05) in the role of Prince.

From 2002 to 2007 he was a permanent member of the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau , where he played as Boris ( Katja Kabanowa ) , Herzog ( One Night in Venice ) , Hans ( The Bartered Bride ) , Don José ( Carmen ) , Sam ( Street Scene ) , Prince (Rusalka) , Ferdinand ( Luisa Miller ) , Sou Chong ( The Land of Smiles ) , Don Ottavio ( Don Giovanni ) , Tassilo ( Countess Mariza ) , Tamino ( The Magic Flute ) , Wilhelm Meister ( Mignon ) and Zarewitsch ( The Tsarevich ) could be heard.

Jörg Brückner has been a freelance worker since then. He has appeared as Tamino (Die Zauberflöte) , Lyonel ( Martha ) , Prinz (Rusalka) , Hans (The Bartered Bride) and Sou Chong ( The Land of Smiles - including Peter Konwitschny / Kyrill Petrenko) at the Heidelberg Theater and the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau , the Staatstheater Braunschweig, the Theater Basel, the Oper Halle and the Komische Oper Berlin.

On his artistic path he worked with renowned orchestras such as the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the Hamburg and Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. Numerous concerts in the concert field have taken him to Italy, Spain, Denmark and Austria.

Since 2009 Jörg Brückner has been singing mainly concerts and teaching.
