Heiner Hopfner

Heiner Hopfner (born June 28, 1941 in Mitterteich ; † August 31, 2014 ) was a German opera, lied and concert singer with a tenor voice as well as a singing teacher.

Life and artistic work

At the age of eight he came to the Regensburger Domspatzen . After graduating from high school, which he passed in 1962 at the German Gymnasium in Amberg , he studied singing at the Munich Music Academy and education at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . During his three-year legal traineeship, he won several international awards and devoted himself increasingly to his career as an opera, lied and concert singer. He subsequently sang on the major German-speaking music stages, a. a. at the Bavarian State Opera , and many song and concert evenings have taken him to the major national and international concert halls. In the late 1970s he was the leading tenor of theKassel State Theater .

During his singing career, the singer worked with conductors such as Eugen Jochum , Herbert von Karajan , Karl Böhm , Karl Richter , Helmuth Rilling , Georg Solti , Wolfgang Sawallisch , to name just a few of the many.

Heiner Hopfner taught singing at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. His students include a. Christiane Karg , Laura Schroeder , Joel Montero , Cordula Schuster etc. He was also a member of the jury for the International Mozart Competition.

Heiner Hopfner died on August 31, 2014 at the age of 73.
