Jörg Matthias Fritz (born January 25, 1960 in Tiengen ) is a German politician and former member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg for Alliance 90 / The Greens .

education and profession

After primary school in Tiengen and Nürtingen , Jörg Fritz completed his Abitur at the Max-Planck-Gymnasium in Nürtingen. From 1981 to 1982 he did his community service in the Nürtingen district hospital. From 1982 to 1987 he studied political science, contemporary history and German at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen , but remained without a degree. From 1988 to 1990, Uschi Eid was the office manager of the Bundestag member . From 1991 to 2011 he was a freelance lecturer in adult education.

Political activity

Fritz has been a member of the Greens since it was founded in 1979. From 1980 to 1984 he was a member of the local association of the Greens in Nürtingen. From 1984 to 1989 he had a mandate in the local council of Nürtingen and in the district council of the Esslingen district .

In the state elections in 2011 he was elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg in the constituency of Göppingen . There he is a member of the Committee on Finance and Economics and the Committee on Science, Research and Art.

For the 2016 state election, Fritz was no longer elected by his party. In the vote against Alexander Maier , there was a stalemate. Maier won by drawing lots and was then able to win the constituency for the Greens.

Family and private

Jörg Matthias Fritz is Catholic. He lives in Göppingen and has two children.
