Jörg Schönert
Jörg Schönert (* 1941 in Jena ) is a German literary scholar . From 1983 to 2007 he was Professor of Modern German Literature at the University of Hamburg .
biography
Schönert studied German and English in Munich , Reading and Zurich . The qualifying papers for a doctorate in 1968 and for a habilitation in 1977 were devoted to satirical storytelling in the 18th century. He then taught as a private lecturer at the Universities of Munich and Heidelberg, from 1980 to 1983 as a professor at the RWTH Aachen, and from 1983 at the Institute for German Studies at the University of Hamburg.
