Jörg Schwalm

Jörg Schwalm (born September 25, 1942 in Leipzig ) is a German lawyer and was Attorney General of the Free State of Saxony .

Life

Schwalm was born in Leipzig, Saxony, in 1942, but grew up in West Germany. After graduating from high school, he studied law at the University of Würzburg , where he also received his doctorate in 1969 with the dissertation The development of the concept of benevolence and its meaning in administrative law. After the second state examination in law, he took up his position as assessor at the Nuremberg-Fürth public prosecutor's office on August 21, 1970. On October 1, 1974, he was appointed judge at the Nuremberg-Fürth regional court . After a while he switched back to the public prosecutor's office, where he was appointed group leader with effect from October 1, 1981. From 1981 to 1986 Schwalm was also partially seconded to the Federal Prosecutor's Office. On November 1, 1985, he was appointed senior public prosecutor.

In the course of the rebuilding of the Saxon judiciary after the political change in the GDR , for which the judicial authorities from Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg had taken on a "sponsorship" , Schwalm moved to Saxony in 1990, where he from December 1, 1990 as part of a Delegation took over the provisional management of the former district attorney's office in Dresden.
