Jörg Sprave (born April 7, 1965 in Dortmund ) is a German YouTube artist, known for his English-language videos on his YouTube channel JoergSprave (or The Slingshot Channel ).

YouTube

The YouTube channel was founded on April 8, 2008 and shows demonstrations of Sprave's self-made, often unusual, twins . In addition to steel balls and arrows, unusual projectiles such as saw blades, oreo , playing cards or toilet brushes are used with specially designed twins. In addition to slingshots, other weapons and toy weapons such as swords, knives, crossbows , bows or protective vests are also built, demonstrated or tested.

The majority of the videos are produced in English with occasional information videos in German.

Out of dissatisfaction with YouTube's politics, he founded YouTubers Union , a union for YouTubers, in March 2018 . On September 30, 2018, Sprave announced that it would only operate its YouTube channel as a hobby due to the sharp drop in advertising income, which was due to stricter advertising restrictions for weapon-related channels.

Together with the second chairman of IG Metall , Sprave published a video statement on August 1, 2019, in which he announced the collaboration between the YouTubers Union and IG Metall to create a "partnership on equal terms", a reorganization of employment relationships and more transparency between YouTube and Reach YouTubers.

Private

Sprave has been interested in slingshots since he was a child. Sprave completed an economics degree at the University of Paderborn . He then worked for a video editing software company. He is married.
