Jörg Vierkant

Jörg Vierkant (born July 16, 1953 in Barth ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1998 to 2011 he was a member of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Life

Vierkant graduated from high school in his hometown of Barth in 1972. After his military service he studied from 1974 to 1978 at the Pedagogical University in Güstrow. He then worked as a teacher for mathematics, physics and astronomy in Stralsund until 1990 and as head of the school until 1991. He then worked until 1998 as a seminar leader at the State Institute for School and Training (LISA) in Stralsund. Vierkant is Protestant, married, has a daughter and a son who died in 2003.

Vierkant was independent until 1991 and then joined the CDU. Since 1996 he has been district chairman of the party and from 1994 to 1997 he was a member of the citizenship of the Hanseatic city of Stralsund. Since October 26, 1998, he has been a member of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . From 2005 to October 2006, Vierkant was chairman of the petitions committee. In the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 2006 , he was able to move into the state parliament again through a direct mandate in constituency 26 ( Stralsund II ). Since November 2006 he has been a member of the CDU parliamentary group's parliamentary group. In addition, Vierkant is the head of the CDU working group in the field of education.

Jörg Vierkant did not run for health reasons for the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 2011 .
