Jörgen Augustsson

Jörgen Augustsson (born October 28, 1952 ) is a former Swedish football player .

career

Defensive player Augustsson played for Åtvidabergs FF and Landskrona BoIS in the Allsvenskan . He was also a Swedish national player 18 times from 1974 to 1977 . With the country selection, he took part in the 1974 World Cup, in which the team only failed in the second group phase. The defender of Atvidabergs made his debut at the World Cup on June 26, 1974 in the 0-1 defeat in Stuttgart against Poland under coach Georg Ericson in the national team. Bo Augustsson's younger brother played his first 15 internationals at Atvidabergs, and he played the last three internationals at Landskrona. In the stadium Kopparvallen was Kent Karlsson a longtime teammate of him.

At the European Championship qualifiers for the EM 1976 he was part of the Swedish cast with five appearances. Ronnie Hellström , Kent Karlsson and Roland Andersson completed six qualifying games , five like Jörgen Augustsson and Björn Nordqvist , Jan Mattsson and Roland Sandberg . Sweden could not prevail against Yugoslavia (10: 2 points), Northern Ireland (6: 6) and Norway (2:10) with 6: 6 points.
