Alter Ego is a music project by Jörn Elling Wuttke and Roman Flügel . Her productions range between techno , electronica and experimental music. Both also produce under other project names such as Acid Jesus , Holy Garage and Sensorama .
history
Jörn Elling Wuttke and Roman Flügel have been working as a production team since the late 1980s and both come from Darmstadt . In 1993 they founded the three labels Ongaku , Klang Elektronik and Playhouse with DJ Ata and Heiko MSO .
The Alter Ego project was also founded in 1993 . In 1994 the first Alter Ego EP was released on Sven Väth's Harthouse label , with which the duo attracted a lot of attention within the scene. The follow-up album Decoding the Hacker Myth was released in 1995 . In 1997, the last alter ego single was released on Harthouse with Absolute . In 1999 the track Betty Ford was released , which became one of the biggest club hits of the year. The track Rocker , released in 2004, brought them the 2005 Dance Music Award for the best track.
In 2004 they produced the theme song for VIVA fashion magazine Inside .
Roman Flügel was also successful as a solo artist. His club hit Is it still possible? was a very successful electro house instrument in 2005 and 2006 . The short and monotonous structure had a major influence on the development of the genre. Many internationally known DJs released remixes , including Steve Angello .
