Jörn Müller-Quade

Jörn Müller-Quade (* 1967 in Darmstadt ) is a German computer scientist , cryptographer and university professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology .

Life

Müller-Quade studied computer science at the Universities of Erlangen and Karlsruhe from 1987 to 1993 . He then worked at the Karlsruhe Institute of Algorithms and Cognitive Systems (IAKS), where he headed the research group for diffractive optics until 1999. In 1998 he did his doctorate in Karlsruhe under the supervision of Thomas Beth with a computer algebraic script Algorithms for the decomposition of rational images to the Dr. rer. nat. From 1999 to 2001, Müller-Quade worked at the Imai Laboratory of the Institute of Industrial Science at the University of Tokyo . There he founded and led the research group for quantum cryptography. He then worked again at the IAKS as part of the Emmy Noether program . From 2008 he took over the chair for IT security at the University of Karlsruhe, since 2009 he has been the full holder of this chair and head of the Institute for Cryptography and Security.

Müller-Quade researches in particular in the field of cryptography. One focus here is artificial intelligence and learning systems .
