Location of Hof Jörnstorf in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

Hof Jörnstorf is a village within the municipality Biendorf in neubukow-salzhaff , district of Rostock in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1219. In this year the area of the present-day place became the property of the newly founded Sonnenkamp Monastery . At that time the place was still called villa jordanis , which was most likely due to the fact that the property was previously owned by the Slavic knight Jordan von Saven.

In contrast to other names in the region, the name indicates the founding of German settlers who settled in this area during the eastern settlement . In 1938 the place became part of the municipality Jörnstorf, which was incorporated into the municipality of Biendorf on July 1, 1998.
