Júnior Ponce , full name Alexander Júnior Ponce Pardo (born February 16, 1994 in Callao ), is a Peruvian football player . He has been under contract with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim since the beginning of January 2013 and has since been awarded to various clubs, currently at Universidad San Martín .
Career
He played for the Academia Deportiva Cantolao from the age of 9 until he was 17.
After the U-17 South American Championship in Ecuador in 2011, the Mexican club CF Pachuca noticed him and signed him for four years.
At the end of 2011 he decided to return to his native Peru and signed a three-year contract with Alianza Lima .
At the beginning of January 2013 Ponce signed a contract until June 30, 2017 with the German Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim , but was then immediately awarded to the Brazilian club EC Pelotas .
In the summer of 2013, Ponce initially returned to Alianza Lima on loan until the end of the year. At the beginning of January 2014, the loan was extended to December 31, 2014.
In July 2014, the loan was terminated prematurely and Ponce switched to Vitória Setúbal on loan to the Portuguese Primeira Liga for the 2014/15 season . In the summer Ponce was loaned back to his home country at Universidad San Martín .
National team
Ponce has been part of various youth national teams in Peru . In 2011 he was part of the U-17 national team of Peru , which competed at the U-17 South American Championships in Ecuador . Originally Ponce should also be part of the Peruvian selection at the U-20 South American Championships in Argentina , but was deleted from the squad in the run-up to the tournament for disciplinary reasons.
