The Bega Jewish Cemetery is located in Bega , a district of the Dörentrup municipality in the Lippe district in North Rhine-Westphalia . The Jewish cemetery is registered with the number 27 as an architectural monument in the list of monuments of the municipality of Dörentrup.

The Jewish cemetery in Bega

The Jewish cemetery, surrounded by a hedge, is located a little outside the town of Bega on Sibbentruper Straße. The exact origin of the cemetery is not known. The last Jewish burial took place in Bega in 1890. Today some gravestones ( mazewot ), partly sunk into the earth, can still be seen in the cemetery. The Jews living in Bega used to belong to the synagogue community of Barntrup .
