Jewish cemetery (Gladbeck)
The Jewish cemetery in the city of Gladbeck in the Recklinghausen district in North Rhine-Westphalia is part of the municipal cemetery on Feldhauser Strasse and is located there in the northwest corner, close to Konrad-Adenauer-Allee. Eight tombstones have been preserved.
History: The cemetery was occupied from 1908 to 1937, there are 31 burials recorded. In 1929 the cemetery was desecrated . During the Nazi era , the burial ground was destroyed and numerous tombstones were smashed. The tombstones that still exist today were erected after 1945 and a memorial was added.
