Morris Island is an 11 km long and icy island in the Marshall Archipelago off the Saunders coast of Marie Byrd Land in western Antarctica . It is located 6 km west of Farmer Island in the Sulzberger Ice Shelf .
The United States Geological Survey mapped them using the United States Navy's own surveys and aerial photographs from 1959 to 1965. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1966 after Lieutenant J. E. Morris of the US Navy Reserve Forces, officer on board the USS Glacier while exploring this stretch of coast between 1961 and 1962.
