The district court

The former Jewish cemetery Euskirchen (Kölner Straße) was located in the city center on the corner of Kölner Straße and Oststraße and was closed in 1938 and built over by the Euskirchen District Court in 1960 . The cemetery was the second in Euskirchen (the old cemetery “Am Judenwall” was occupied from 1680 to 1835) from 1834 to 1918. From 1913 the new Jewish cemetery in Frauenberger Strasse was used as a burial place.

There is nothing left to indicate the former cemetery. Some tombstones ( mazewot ) have been moved to the new cemetery . According to the Talmudic Law, the dead should actually be guaranteed the integrity of their graves for eternity. This command could not be observed here.
