Jewish cemetery (Zülpich)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zülpich Jewish cemetery was located at the Weiertor in Zülpich in the Euskirchen district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The Jewish cemetery , which was occupied from well before 1604 to 1958, can no longer be seen on site. Its previous location can still be reconstructed using historical maps.

As the lignite mining at that time continued to progress, 225 graves were relocated to the Jewish cemetery in Cologne-Ehrenfeld between February 5 and 21, 1958 . In Ehrenfeld there are still 45 tombstones ( Mazewot ) from this submerged cemetery.
