Jewish cemetery (Geisa)
The Geisa Jewish cemetery is located in the area of the town of Geisa in the Wartburg district in Thuringia . It is registered as a protected architectural monument .

The Jewish cemetery is located at Schleider Str. 8A at the southern exit of Geisa in the direction of Schleid. It can be reached from Schleider Straße via a narrow path. The older part of the cemetery is on a wooded slope with "27 still recognizable" ("48 in total") tombstones . The number of burials is assumed to be around 200.
history
The Jewish community in Geisa had had a cemetery since the second half of the 18th century; it was expanded in 1857. The Jewish cemetery survived the National Socialist era largely unscathed.
