Jewish cemetery (Kirrweiler)
The Jewish cemetery in the local community of Kirrweiler (Pfalz) in the Südliche Weinstrasse district in Rhineland-Palatinate is a protected cultural monument .
The Jewish cemetery , which has an area of 550 square meters, is located about 200 meters north of the town on Neustadter Weg and can be reached via Jahnstraße. There are 46 tombstones on it .
history
The cemetery was occupied from 1867 to 1931. It also served as a burial place for the Jews in Maikammer and Diedesfeld .
It was forcibly sold in 1943 during the National Socialist era . The tombstones are said to have been cleared during the war years and only put back up in the cemetery after 1945. In 1980 the cemetery was restored.
