Bernhard Kukatzki

Bernhard Kukatzki (born October 10, 1960 in Speyer ) is a German historian , publicist and politician of the SPD . He has been working in the field of regional research since the early 1980s . Kukatzki lives and works in Schifferstadt .

biography

After graduating from the Friedrich-Magnus-Schwerd-Gymnasium in Speyer in 1980, Kukatzki did community service in Mannheim until 1982 . From 1983 to 1990 he studied political science, history and Jewish studies at the University of Landau and at the University for Jewish Studies in Heidelberg . Between 1991 and 1998 he worked as a freelance journalist and author. He finished his studies in 2000 with a Magister Artium . He then worked as a research assistant at the Frank Loeb Institute in Landau until 2002 . The focus of his work is on researching Jewish culture in Rhineland-Palatinate . He is well versed in the Jewish history of the Palatinate and has made a name for himself beyond the Palatinate region with numerous regional and local historical publications.

Kukatzki has been a member of the SPD since 1997. From 1986 to 1989 and again from 1999 to 2014 he was councilor in Schifferstadt, from 1989 to 1994 alderman . Since 2014 he has been a member of the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis and a member of the Palatinate District Assembly . From December 19, 2014, when he replaced the resigned MP Hannelore Klamm , until 2016 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .

Since January 1, 2017, Kukatzki has been the head of the State Center for Civic Education Rhineland-Palatinate , based in Mainz.

In 2002, Kukatzki received the Dr. Feldbausch Foundation. This was founded in Landau in 1995.
