Weingartia cintiensis is a species of plant in the genus Weingartia from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Weingartia cintiensis sprouts with dark to olive green bodies. They reach for diameters of 10 centimeters stature heights of up to 20 centimeters and have up to 12 centimeters long, not very strong thickened taproot . The approximately 11 ribs are low and rounded and humped. There are 1 to 2  central spines , but they can also be missing. The 5 to 10 radial spines are curved and protruding. They are gray-brown, brownish or straw-colored to yellow and 5 to 7 centimeters long.

The yellow flowers are slender funnel-shaped and appear near the apex. They are up to 6 centimeters long and have a diameter of up to 3 centimeters. The spherical to elongated fruits are greenish, dry up leathery when ripe and tear at the sides or at the base.

Distribution and systematics

Weingartia cintiensis is widespread in the Bolivian department of Chuquisaca from Camargo to Impora at altitudes of 2200 to 3200 meters.

The first description was published in 1958 by Martín Cárdenas (1892-1959). Synonyms are Sulcorebutia cintiensis (Cárdenas) FHBrandt , Gymnocalycium cintiense (Cardenas) Hutchison , Weingartia fidaiana subsp. cintiensis (Cárdenas) Donald and Rebutia fidaiana subsp. cintiensis (Cárdenas) DRHunt .
