Jewish cemetery (Märkisch Buchholz)
The Jewish cemetery in Märkisch Buchholz , a town in the Dahme-Spreewald district in the state of Brandenburg ( Germany ), was probably laid out in the first half of the 19th century. The Jewish cemetery , northeast of Märkisch Buchholz on the way to Herrlichenrath in the forest, is a protected monument .
history
The oldest surviving tombstone ( Mazewa ) in the cemetery dates from 1846, the youngest is from 1917. Jews from the surrounding towns of Krausnick , Neu Lübbenau , Rietz-Neuendorf and Pretschen were also buried here.
The cemetery was partially destroyed during or after the National Socialism . 26 gravestones are still preserved in the 7.20 ares large cemetery today.
