Jewish cemetery (Monheim am Rhein)
The Jewish cemetery Monheim is a Jewish cemetery in Monheim am Rhein , a town in the Mettmann district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ). The cemetery is on Hasenstrasse.
history
The Jewish cemetery on Sandberg may have been laid out as early as the 17th century.
Today there are 6 tombstones ( mazewot ). The last burial was made in 1960.
Desecrations
During the National Socialist era , the cemetery was desecrated on November 8, 1938. In April 2002 the cemetery was also desecrated.
Commemoration
In 1969 a memorial was erected on the Jewish cemetery (see photo).
