Jewish cemetery (Langenfeld)
The Jewish cemetery Langenfeld is a Jewish cemetery in Richrath , a district of Langenfeld in the Mettmann district in North Rhine-Westphalia . The cemetery is located on the corner of Klosterstraße / Am schwarzen Weiher.
history
Since 1858 the Jewish community of Richrath (together with Reusrath , Langenfeld, Immigrath , Monheim and Hitdorf ) was a branch of the synagogue community of Solingen , to which it was affiliated in 1932.
The Jewish cemetery was laid out in the 18th century and used by the Jews in Richrath, Ganspohl , Immigrath, Hucklenbroich, Reusrath and Hitdorf. The burial place was occupied from the middle of the 18th century until 1986 and still exists. 51 tombstones have been preserved here, 22 of which date from the 19th century. No gravestones from the 18th century have survived.
