The Jewish cemetery in thought

The Jewish cemetery in Ungedanken , a district of Fritzlar in the Schwalm-Eder district in Hesse , was laid out in the second half of the 18th century. The 28.74 ares large cemetery is located on the corner of Südstrasse and Bürabergstrasse in the south of the village.

After many community members had moved to Fritzlar or Kassel at the beginning of the 20th century , a foundation for the maintenance of the Jewish cemetery was established in Unthanken in 1909. The last burials took place in 1942 (Isidor Gutheim from Villmar ) and 1952/53.
