Jürgen Barth (born July 30, 1955 in Klötze ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has been a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt since 2006 , to which he was a member from 1998 to 2002.

Life and work

After graduating from the polytechnic high school in 1972, he began training as a machine and system fitter. From 1976 to 1979 he began a new training as an agricultural engineer. From 1980 to 1990, Barth was division and production manager of the agricultural production cooperative in Klötze. Then he was chief accountant / authorized signatory at Agrar GmbH Bösdorf until 1998. After leaving the state parliament in 2002, Barth became regional manager of the association “Die Altmark mittendrin” e. V.

Jürgen Barth is married and has two children.

Party and politics

From 1979 to 1989 Barth was a member of the SED . In 1993 he joined the SPD and was chairman of the SPD local association Klötze from 1996 to 2002 and from 2007. He has also been a member of the SPD district executive since 1996, and has been its chairman since 2007.

MP

From 1990 to 1994 he was a community representative and since 1994 he has been a member of the district council of Altmarkkreis Salzwedel . Here he is parliamentary group leader of the SPD district parliamentary group. In the 3rd electoral period (1998 to 2002) Barth was a member of the state parliament for the first time. In the state elections in 2002 and 2006 , he missed the direct mandate in the constituency of Gardelegen-Klötze . In May 2006 he was able to move up to the state parliament for Rüdiger Erben, who was appointed State Secretary . In the state parliament, Barth is a member of the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Forestry and the Committee on the Environment. In the state elections in 2011 and 2016 , he was re-elected to the state parliament via the state list.
