Jürgen Begemann

Jürgen Begemann (born July 3, 1941 in Potsdam ) was General Director of VEB Kombinat Schiffbau Rostock from 1988 to 1990 .

Life

After graduating from high school , the working-class son Jürgen Begemann studied at the University of Rostock from 1960 to 1966 and became a graduate engineer for marine engineering . In 1962 he joined the SED . 1966/67 he worked as a repair engineer in the VEB Deutsche Seereederei Rostock . From 1967 to 1969 Begemann was a research assistant , then until 1970 head of new buildings in the fleet development department of the shipping company and chartering investment consortium in Rostock . In 1970/71 and then again in 1972/73 he was department head for fleet development at VEB Deutfracht. 1970/71 and again from 1976 to 1978 he was director for science and technology there.

1974/75 Begemann was director of technology at the combine shipping and port management and completed a course at the SED district party school by 1976. From 1979 to 1988 Begemann was Deputy Director General for Science and Technology in VE Kombinat Seeverkehr und Hafenwirtschaft – Deutfracht – Seereederei. In 1984/85 he studied at the Academy for Social Sciences at the Central Committee of the CPSU in Moscow and in 1988 became General Director of the VEB Kombinat Schiffbau Rostock.

In 1990 Begemann was for a few months chairman of the board of the Deutsche Maschinen- und Schiffbau AG in Rostock, which had emerged from the GDR combine, and then retired. In 1990 he became a member of the Supervisory Board in Magdeburg based SKL engine and system technology AG i. G.
