Jürgen Christern

Jürgen Christern (* 1928 in Berlin ; † 1983 ) was a German Christian archaeologist .

Life

From 1952 to 1959 he studied art history, history and classical archeology in Bonn and Munich . After obtaining his doctorate in 1960/1961 with Friedrich Wilhelm Deichmann and his habilitation in 1971 in Heidelberg , he was a lecturer there (1973–1976) and from 1976 taught as a professor for Christian and medieval art history at the Catholic University of Nijmegen . He was co-editor of the Augustine Lexicon.
