Jürgen E. Kratzmann

Jürgen Egon Kratzmann (born May 23, 1946 in Hamburg ) is a German naval officer ( Flotilla admiral retired) and journalist .

Life

Kratzmann joined the Bundeswehr in 1967 ( Crew IV / 67) as a candidate for naval officers. In 1970 he was promoted to lieutenant at sea . After various assignments, he became a youth officer in 1974 . This was followed by an interim assignment as a supply officer (SVO) on the destroyer "Lütjens" and from 1980 to 1982 admiral staff training at the command academy of the German Armed Forces (FüAkBw) in Hamburg. He then became a teaching staff officer at the Inner Guidance Center (ZInFü) in Koblenz. In 1984 he took over a department in the naval support command (MUKkdo) in Wilhelmshaven. In 1986 he became head of inspections at the Naval Supply School (MVS) in List.

After three years as head of the electrical engineering / industrial engineering department at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg , he became a consultant in the command staff of the armed forces (Fü S) in Bonn. From 1991 he worked in the press and information staff of the Federal Ministry of Defense (Pr- / InfoSt). Various tasks led him to the naval support command in Wilhelmshaven in 1996 as head of department in the BMVg. In 2000 he finally became Admiral Marinelogistik in the naval support command. From 2000 to 2001 he was head of the logistics work group in Bonn. Until his retirement in 2008 he was a Flotilla Admiral, Sub-Department Head Armaments (RüVII) in the BMVg.

Kratzmann was editor-in-chief of the maritime trade journal MarineForum from June 2008 to the end of 2018 .

Kratzmann is married and has four children.
