Jürgen Filius (born October 5, 1960 in Berlin ) is a German politician and member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

education and profession

Jürgen Filius came in 1961 after Ulm , where, after graduating from high school in 1981 at the Humboldt High School his community service at the orphanage Good Shepherd ableistete. He then studied at the University of Heidelberg Law . After his legal clerkship, he worked as a lawyer. As a founding partner , he belongs to the law firm Filius, Brosch & Kollegen in Ulm.

Political activity

Filius joined the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party in 1993. From 1997 to 2009 he was a member of the Ulm City Council for his party.

In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2011 , he received 24.7 percent of the votes in the Ulm state constituency and moved into the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg via the second mandate . In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2016 , he won the direct mandate for his Ulm constituency with 33 percent of the vote .

In the state parliament, Filius is represented in the standing committee and in the committee for science, research and art and is a deputy member of the parliamentary control body . He is also the chairman of the legal and constitutional working group for his parliamentary group, legal policy spokesman as well as spokesman for university medicine and the prison officer.

Social Commitment

In 1990 Filius was the spokesman for the Ulm citizens' initiative Neue Straße against tunnels and underground parking . Filius is a co-founder of the legal emergency service in Ulm and a member of the sponsoring association of the Center Guter Hirte eV, which takes care of children and young people from difficult family backgrounds. He is also chairman of the FortSchritt Ulm / Neu-Ulm eV association, an association that takes care of the care and education of brain-damaged children.

Personal

Filius is married and has three children. He belongs to the Roman Catholic Church and lives in Ulm.
