Jürgen Funke-Wieneke

Jürgen Funke-Wieneke (born February 17, 1944 in Chemnitz ) is a German sports educator and university teacher .

Life

Funke-Wieneke was Professor of Sports Science at the University of Hamburg from 1980 to 2009 . From 1997 to 2005 he held the office of Vice Dean , and between 2008 and 2009 he was head of the Department of Human Movement Science .

His research activities focused on terms such as physical experience and movement as well as the relationship between sport, movement and education. Funke-Wieneke was in charge of the projects “The development of the meanings of movement in adolescence” (2001 to 2004).

Another research focus was school sport with projects such as "Evaluation of the system change in school sport in Hamburg part-time vocational schools" (1999 to 2001). Funke-Wieneke dealt with the development of school sport in several articles.

In 1997 he brought out the book “Mediating between child and thing: Explanations for Sports Education”, in 2004 he published the work “Movement and Sports Education: Scientific Theory Basics, Central Approaches, Developmental Education Concepts”.
