Jürgen Hartz (born September 29, 1966 in St. Ingbert ) is a German handball player . The right-hander has been playing for TV Niederwürzbach since he was a teenager. The playing position of the former international is in the left backcourt .

Career

Jürgen Hartz began at the age of five in the youth of the Saarland TV Niederwürzbach . As early as 1983, when he was sixteen, he made the leap from the youth of the club to the first team of the former Saar league team. In the same season, the club rose to the Oberliga Saar. In 1985 the team became champions of the league and so came to the Regionalliga Südwest. In 1987 he was promoted to the second Bundesliga South and again two years later he was promoted to the first Bundesliga. With the team, Hartz was twice German runner-up and won the Euro City Cup in 1995 . From 1986 to 1994 he was also a member of the national team and scored 158 goals in a total of 58 games.

When TV Niederwürzbach decided not to remain in the Bundesliga after the 1998/99 season and the first men's team was downgraded to the Oberliga Saar, Hartz remained loyal to the club. Hartz still plays in the third team of TV Niederwürzbach and is the coach of the active and the B-youth .

Private life and work

Hartz holds a degree in business administration and was managing director of Metall- und Glasbau Hartz GmbH (MGH) in Niederwürzbach, which has been insolvent since January 6, 2014 . He is married and has two children. His uncle is Peter Hartz . His father Rudi Hartz was involved in the club for many years and also acted as Jürgen Hartz 'manager.
