Jürgen Kremb

Jürgen Kremb (* 1957 ) is a German journalist and book author.

Life

Kremb studied East Asian Studies from 1982 to 1988 at the Free University of Berlin and in Taiwan . Between 1982 and 1990 he was Asia - correspondent and foreign editor of the taz , then to 1991 for the Frankfurter Rundschau in Beijing operates. From 1992 to 2013 he was Spiegel correspondent in Beijing, Singapore and Vienna . In November 1998, he was forced to leave China within 48 hours on charges of possessing internal documents from the military and political leadership. He has been writing for the Singapore newspaper Handelsblatt since 2014 .

In 2012 Kremb founded the international music high school “Amadeus - International School of Music Vienna” in Vienna and became its first director. The language of instruction at the school is English, and Chinese is also taught.

He has also published books on Asia and the Federal Criminal Police Office , runs a consulting firm based in Singapore and Vienna and writes for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung , the Handelsblatt, the Manager-Magazin and the Axis des Guten .

Since January 2019, Kremb has been managing the day-to-day business of the Austrian Chinese Institute of Economics and Science (ACIES), a government-related economic platform and think tanks in Vienna, as Secretary General. ACIES has set itself the goal of intensifying relations between China and Austria, particularly on the subject of the “New Silk Road”, economy, culture and politics.
