Jürgen Krogmann (born November 14, 1963 in Steinfeld ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 2008 to 2014 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament and has been Lord Mayor of the city of Oldenburg since 2014 .

Life

After graduating from high school, Jürgen Krogmann did community service . He then studied history, German and politics at the Universities of Cologne and Oldenburg .

In 1987 he joined the SPD and was appointed to the board of the SPD local association Oldenburg-Nord.

From 1989 to 1993 Krogmann worked as a radio reporter and presenter for the NDR in Oldenburg. From 1993 to 2006 he was the spokesman for the city of Oldenburg. After that, until he moved into the Lower Saxony state parliament in 2008, he was the head of the “Planning Information and Citizen Participation” department of the City of Oldenburg.

In the state elections in Lower Saxony in 2008 , Krogmann entered the Lower Saxony state parliament through a direct mandate in constituency 63 Oldenburg-Nord / West . There he was spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group for local politics as well as for ports and shipping. In the state elections in Lower Saxony in 2013 , he was again able to win his state constituency directly.

Since 2011 he has also been involved in local politics in Oldenburg. In the local elections, he entered the Oldenburg Council with the best result in the city. He worked there, among other things, in the committee for economic development and as chairman of the school committee.

In 2014 he was elected Lord Mayor of Oldenburg. He then resigned his mandate in the Landtag; Luzia Moldenhauer moved up for him .

Krogmann is married and has three children. He is a member of the United Services Union and the Workers' Welfare Association .
