Jürgen Mantell

Jürgen Mantell (born March 21, 1944 in Quedlinburg ) is a German politician, administrative officer and sports functionary .

Life

Mantell, who is nicknamed "Eddy", played hockey for more than 30 years at the Duisburg club Raffelberg and in Hamburg at Harvestehuder THC .

On April 1, 1998, Mantell took up his post as head of the Eimsbüttel district office , after having carried out this post on a provisional basis since September 1996. In spring 2010 the doctor of law resigned as district office manager and retired. During his tenure, among other things, the sale of the water tower in the Schanzenpark and its subsequent renovation fell.

In June 2014, the SPD member Mantell was elected chairman of the Hamburger Sportbund (HSB). Before that, he was HSB Vice President for Sports Infrastructure from 2012 to 2014.

He is married to the politician Thea Bock for the second time .
