Jürgen Patocka (born July 30, 1977 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian football player and now coach.
Career
Club career
Jürgen Patocka started his career at SC Untersiebenbrunn . As a player in the Regionalliga Ost , he made the leap into professional football from Floridsdorfer AC at the beginning of 2001. In Vorarlberg, the defender was now fighting for promotion to the Bundesliga at SC Austria Lustenau and soon became captain. After Jürgen Patocka and his team failed only in second place at FC Wacker Tirol in 2004 , he accepted an offer from Bundesliga club SV Mattersburg .
Jürgen Patocka was soon an important support in the defense of the Burgenlanders and reached the ÖFB Cup final both in 2006 and 2007 with SV Mattersburg , which in both cases went to Vienna Austria . The compensation was the first UEFA Cup participation and Jürgen Patocka was called up to the Austrian national team . On May 30, 2007, the center-back made his international debut against Scotland . He delivered a good first game, where he contributed the 1-0 of Garry O'Connor through a defensive error.
This was followed by a change within the league to SK Rapid Vienna . In 2007/08 he won the Austrian championship with the club for the first time and this season made 35 appearances in which he scored two goals. In the seasons 2008/09 to 2010/11 he was in 70 games for Rapid on the field and scored 4 goals. During the 2011/12 season, the club then announced that Patocka's expiring contract would not be extended, which meant that Patocka had to leave the club after the end of the season. The defender then moved to SC Austria Lustenau at the beginning of the 2012/13 season . Since the summer of 2014, the Viennese who now lives in Raggal in the Bregenzerwald, has been working as a player trainer for FC Brauerei Egg.
National team
After the end of the 2007/08 season, Jürgen Patocka was called up to the Austrian squad for the 2008 European Championship , although he was not used in the preparatory international games in 2008 , although he was also unable to record at the European Championship.
