Jürgen Raetzmann

Jürgen Rätzmann (born October 25, 1927 in Hamburg ; † November 3, 2013 in Uelzen ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Jürgen Rätzmann attended elementary school and then high school. In the Second World War he became an air force helper in 1943 , in the following year he did Reich labor service , and in 1945 he was finally a member of the Wehrmacht and became a prisoner of war in Belgium. After the end of the war he completed an agricultural apprenticeship, became an agricultural master and agricultural engineer and dedicated himself as an independent farmer to his arable farm (120 ha, partly leased land). Rätzmann was involved in various agricultural organizations and companies. In the spa society Bevensen he became deputy chairman, in the Kreissparkasse Uelzen he was a member of the board of directors. He served as mayor of the municipality of Sasendorf until 1972, after which he became mayor of the former joint municipality of Bevensen and a member of the council of Bad Bevensen. In 1968 he became a member of the district council in the district of Uelzen , and from 1970 he also worked on the district committee. He also became deputy district administrator there in 1976. From June 21, 1978 to June 20, 1982 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (9th electoral term).

He was married and had three children.
