During this time he was able to continue to play football in the GDR league with the Vorwärts Kamenz army sports community , where he made 24 appearances (1 goal) by April 1982. From the summer of 1982 Reske played again for Motor Rudisleben, where he played another 35 GDR league games and scored seven goals by the end of the 1983/84 season. Then Rudisleben was relegated to the district league, where Reske was active until 1988. Then he let his football career end with the fourth-class BSG Empor Walschleben.
