Jürgen Ritsert

Jürgen Ritsert (born July 7, 1935 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German sociologist .

Jürgen Ritsert completed a commercial apprenticeship from 1956 to 1958 after graduating from high school. He then studied sociology at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . In 1963 he completed his studies as a sociologist. From 1963 to 1966 he worked at the Free University of Berlin as an assistant to Ludwig von Friedeburg . He received his doctorate there in 1966 with a dissertation on the theory of action and the antinomy of freedom . From 1966 Ritsert worked as an academic councilor in Frankfurt. From 1971 until his retirement in 2000 he taught as a professor of sociology at the University of Frankfurt am Main.

His main research interests are social philosophy , social theory, the logic of the social sciences and the methods of the social sciences.
